TELOMERE

How Chromosomes Are Protected By Telomeres And The Enzyme Telomerase.

LIFE CLOCK

Youth Fades Faster Than We Think

The speed at which youth fades is faster than we imagine. Late nights, overwork, stress, anxiety, smoking, drinking, and sugar —these habits quietly wear down the vitality within us.

The Silent Keeper: Telomere

Deep inside our cells lies the Telomere — the silent keeper of our biological clock. It determines how quickly we age and how long we can hold on to youth.

The Aging Clock Within Our Cells

With each cellular repair and division, the telomeres on our chromosomes shorten by 50 to 100 base pairs. As we age, when telomeres shrink to around 5,000 base pairs, cells stop dividing and enter a state of senescence.

Nobel Prize Recognizes Telomerase Discovery

In 2009, three scientists discovered that the enzyme telomerase can repair telomeres, maintain the length of chromosome ends, and stabilize the DNA structure. This groundbreaking research was recognized with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, reshaping our understanding of health maintenance, youthfulness, and beauty.
